good news & love

There is nothing good about this Hurricane Katrina mess, but if I could say that anything positive has come out of it, it is knowing that people, friends & strangers, have been concerned about my well-being.

Here are just a couple of these instances of kindness that I'd like to share:

-An associate with George Clinton & the P-Funk All-Stars (who I was known to have been associated with for a few years, several years ago), wrote to tell me that the band members have been asking about me. Then she offered to try and fly me out to L.A. for George's new CD release concert. Like they say, once you become P-Funk family, you're ALWAYS family. Thanks, family.

-Music friends and fans of my DJing have offered to put me up around the country. I think it's time for a nationwide tour!

You know, it's not the stuff you own, but the people who care about you in this world who make you feel like it's all worth it.

Thanks to all of you for your messages of well wishes (and notification!). Thanks for sending your survival stories and tips for getting our lives back on track. Roll call!:

Now for some good news: I think my block only got 4 feet of water. So, if the looters and alligators haven't gotten to them first, the majority of my record collection may be intact. Keep fingers crossed for me.
