music is my life pt. 2 - where is the music?

I get crazier and crazier by the day in this house in the middle of nowhere, waiting for Katrina to - to just stop.

Yeah, thank goodness I have a safe place to sleep at night with food and water and Internet access, air conditioning, lights, the whole 9.

But I don't have music. Haven't had it since the day I had to leave New Orleans.

Not hearing any is seriously making me turn coco loco.

You see, my uncle's house is not a music house and my uncle and his family are not music people.

I can't imagine a house without at least 2 stereos. Hell, mine had 4 turntables alone!

Here, at my new home for God knows how long, the two stereos are nothing more than stands that you put candles and flower arrangements on top of. I've been told they don't work.

I have not heard a note of music in what will soon be 2 weeks.

I am going crazy.

I find myself singing along to the electronic noises that my hand-held Connect Four game makes. Beep Beep Boop.

I went to the mall (a joyous luxury!) today and found myself tapping my toes to the Muzak. Tom Jones never sounded so good.

Help save DJ Soul Sister's sanity! I want to play my records!! I want to hear the sounds of sweet, funky music again. Please! Plus I need some exercise! If anyone wants to help fund the DJ Soul Sister Hurricane Katrina Mental Health Relief Fund by getting me a nifty Portable Turntable, please let me know. My brain and booty would thank you for it.

For real.
